Keeping track of several medicines across the week is easy to get wrong, especially when doses fall at different times of day. Webster pack medication helps by sorting every tablet into a sealed blister for the right day and time. At Your Community Pharmacy we are Webster Pak experts: we set your packs up, pack them each week and can deliver them to your door. It suits people who manage their own medicines and carers looking after someone else's.
What is a Webster Pak?
Webster-pak is a brand of blister pack made by Webstercare. The pharmacy places each dose into its own sealed bubble, laid out by day of the week and time of day, so you press out one bubble at a time. An unopened bubble tells you at a glance that a dose has not been taken.
It is a type of dose administration aid, which the national pharmacy program defines as a well-sealed, tamper-evident device that organises each dose to match the schedule your prescriber set.
What is a dosette box, and how is it different?
A dosette box is a reusable plastic pill organiser with a lidded compartment for each day, and sometimes for morning, midday, evening and bedtime. You or a carer fill it from your medicine bottles and refill it every week. The two differ in three ways:
- Who fills it: the pharmacy packs a Webster Pak; you fill a dosette box yourself.
- Sealing: Webster Pak bubbles are sealed and tamper-evident; dosette lids simply snap shut.
- Changes: when a dose changes, the pharmacy updates the next packs; with a dosette box, you sort it out.
Who Webster pack medication suits
A Webster Pak can help if you:
- take several medicines at different times of day
- sometimes forget whether a dose has been taken
- find small tablets or bottle lids hard to handle
- look after a parent or partner whose medicines need organising
Before you start, a medication review with the pharmacist is a useful way to check the full list for doubled-up or outdated medicines. Our guide to getting a Webster Pak walks through the first steps.

Common questions
Is a Webster Pak the same as a blister pack?
Yes. Webster-pak is one brand of pharmacy-packed blister pack, so people often use the two names interchangeably.
What happens if my doctor changes a medicine?
Tell the pharmacy as soon as you have the new script so the following packs match. Do not try to push tablets back into a sealed bubble.
How much does a Webster Pak cost?
Pricing is not listed online. Call us on (02) 9999 1186 or ask in store and the team will explain it. If you have seen a medicine cheaper elsewhere, ask about our price match.
Can I keep using my dosette box instead?
You can, if it works for you. A sealed pack mainly helps when medicines are complex, change often or are being managed by a carer. Other services are listed on our health services page.
